Help us end the need for food banks

Although the Trussell Trust will always support food banks to help people in their community, we know that food is not the answer to poverty. Therefore, it would be wrong for us just to focus on providing the best possible emergency food to people in crisis today. Everyone should be able to afford the essentials in life, including food, and we want to see a future where no one needs to use a food bank.

While supporting emergency food provision will continue to be a core part of our work, we’re first and foremost an anti-poverty charity. Alongside providing vital bespoke support to every food bank in our network, major additional services will be rolled out in food banks over the next year to help Change Communities, and we’ll forge new relationships with agencies and organisations who can help people in crisis address their financial situation well before they reach the point of needing to access a food bank. But just as important will be our planned investment in research, advocacy, engagement and campaigning to Change Minds and Change Policy.

The roles advertised below will be at the heart of this vital work, and we’re incredibly excited that they will help us reach our vision quicker, providing thousands of people with the dignity of buying their own food. Network Operations

Network Lead Wales – 12 Month Contract

Home based in Wales with frequent travel to food banks in the area, including attendance to staff conferences, 121’s and team away days.
The Network Lead plays a central role in helping us achieve our vision to end the need for food banks in the UK. This is a varied, proactive and fast-paced role that involves representing the Trussell Trust on policy and public affairs and key stakeholder relationships in Wales, the leadership of a dynamic team of area managers that supports the network of food banks in Wales to deliver emergency food, and the coordination of projects and partnerships to support the food banks in our network to reduce the need for their services locally.

Reporting Analyst

Home based with occasional travel to Salisbury or London offices, including attendance to staff conferences, 121’s and team away days
The Reporting Analyst acts as the internal financial reporting centre for the Trussell Trust, supporting financial planning & analysis colleagues to ensure they have the right reporting at the right time for their work. They lead on producing the monthly reporting deck for our Senior Leadership Group and on producing management reporting for each of our teams and departments, and support Finance colleagues to ensure these reports provide insight and analysis. In addition, the work to continuously improve and refine our suit of internal financial reporting, adjusting as the organisation evolves.

People and Inclusion

PA to the Director of People & Inclusion

Home based within the UK, with some travel for meetings, 121’s, staff conferences and team away days
Provides administrative, project and event planning support to the Director of People & Inclusion. This will involve working closely with the Director to deliver an organisation-wide approach to promoting an inclusive culture and ensuring that we maintain and incorporate the best People, Diversity & Inclusion practices across our network as we work towards ending the need for food banks in the UK.

Financial Inclusion

Financial Inclusion Manager – Northern Ireland

The role will be home based (Northern Ireland), with extensive travel across Northern Ireland and some to Scotland, England and Wales including attendance to staff conferences, 121’s and team away days.
The Financial Inclusion Manager is part of a team of Financial Inclusion Managers who will play a central role in helping us achieve our vision for an end for the need for food banks in the UK. This role will provide essential financial inclusion expertise and support to our area managers and the food bank network to reduce, prevent and eventually end the need for food banks in Northern Ireland. This is a varied, proactive and fast-paced role responsible for managing financial inclusion activities across Northern Ireland. This includes the day-to-day coordination of projects and partnerships, as well as providing direct support on financial inclusion to food banks. The role will focus on delivering financial inclusion support and services to Trussell Trust food banks and partner organisations to develop and optimise timely access to financial inclusion to those visiting (or at risk of needing to visit) food banks, including through individual meetings, development visits, regional events, training sessions and national conferences.

Corporate Engagement Executive

Home based within the UK with some travel to Salisbury or London offices including attendance to staff conferences, 121’s and team away days
The Events and Engagement Executive is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of engagement and volunteering opportunities for our corporate partners and supporting the stewardship of our corporate partners.
