Become a Trussell Trust Church Ambassador

Help us inspire churches across the UK to live out their faith in God’s love, and take action against hunger and poverty.

Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. We believe everyone should have enough money to cover the cost of essentials including food.

We believe that the Church has a unique role to play in this, and as a Church Ambassador you can make a difference.

Local churches are rooted in their communities and are connected to the structures and institutions that can help create social change. Church communities include thousands of people whose collective voice can be a powerful advocate for justice.

Ambassadors include Church Representatives and Church Engagement Volunteers.

Church Representatives

Church Representatives are members of churches who introduce their congregation to the Trussell Trust vision and support their local food bank.

Church Representatives

What does a Church Representative do?

Representatives help churches and food banks to embody Micah 6:8 – to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

You’ll empower your church to be part of our movement for change in three key ways:

Act justly

Inspiring people to use their voice to call for change.

Love mercy

Encouraging support for your local food bank.

Walk humbly

Building community with people who have experience of poverty and hunger.

How will we support you?

As a Trussell Trust Church Representative, you will be part of a UK-wide team of representatives and volunteers who will have access to:

  • Monthly training webinars to meet other Representatives and equip you in using our church resources and encourage your church in how they can be part of bringing change.
  • Resources and activations to share with your church community to help them take action.
  • Inspirational videos, podcasts and materials from the Trussell Trust (and our partners) that will support you to take steps to end injustice, exclusion, and bring people together in community.
  • Bespoke support from the Trussell Trust team to reflect on your journey towards justice and community.

Who can be a Church Representative?

We are looking for people who:

  • Are part of a local church community.
  • Share our vision and values of compassion, justice, community and dignity.
  • Can inspire others to take action and use their voice.
  • Are able to volunteer roughly three to four hours of time each month to help end the need for food banks. This is just a guide and there is no fixed time commitment.

Does this sound like you? If so, we’d love you to join us as a Trussell Trust Church Representative! Sign up below.
