Over the last few months, we have been working closely with the trustees of Gleadless Valley Foodbank to try and identify a route forward for the food bank within the Trussell Trust network. Following these discussions, the Board of the food bank have decided to leave the Trussell Trust and transition to an independent food bank model.

Gleadless Valley Foodbank has been part of our network since 2012 and over many years the food bank has ensured local residents in need of help have been able to access emergency food and wider support. We would like to place on record our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who have served as trustees over the years, staff and volunteers, and to everyone who has supported the food bank with food or financial donations.

As always, our focus remains on the well-being of people who need support. In order to minimise disruption as this transition takes place, a food bank centre at Terry Wright Community Hall on Gleadless Road has been established and will operate for the foreseeable future on Fridays from 1:30pm - 3:30pm. This food bank will be operated by S6 Foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust network.
