From 30th June to 2nd July, all Tesco stores hosted a food collection as part of the eighth Neighbourhood Food Collection, helping to support people struggling with hunger and poverty in local communities this summer.

As always, the response was overwhelming, with thousands of wonderful volunteers giving up their time to hand out shopping lists and collect food from the very generous public.

Here’s what happened during the fun-filled three-day event – prepare to be inspired!

Day 1…

And we’re off! It may have just started but it didn’t take long for the generous donations to start flowing…

Volunteers were getting creative with their outfits…

And were smiling throughout the day!

The generosity continued…

And continued…

Day 2!

After a successful first day, foodbanks were ready for another busy day of handing our shopping lists and collecting items!

And once again, the generosity continued to be amazing…

Day 3!

Final day – so it was the final push for donations to help support people in crisis this summer.

Foodbank Director Adrian Curtis, explained why these food collections are so important…

And foodbanks shared how these public donations are helping to change the lives of others…

Public generosity continued to be overwhelming, as the donations kept flowing!

It was great to see some creative ways of encouraging donations…

And it was wonderful to see all ages getting involved! Including these selfless young helpers…

And that’s the eighth Neighbourhood Food Collection over!

Once again there was an overwhelming response to the collection. Foodbanks are currently busy weighing and sorting all the donated food, we’ll make sure to announce the total amount collected as soon as we know!

Thank you to everyone who got involved, from volunteering your time to donating items, your input will make a real difference to people struggling with food poverty this summer. #EveryCanHelps
