End Hunger – Feed a Family
Christmas Appeal

Volunteer today to End Hunger – Feed a Family

Christmas is supposed to be a time for joy, but this December we’re expecting to see more people than ever before needing help from a foodbank.

We know it doesn’t have to be like this.

That’s why we’ve joined forces with the Mirror in the lead up to this Christmas to ask the nation to stand together in solidarity and help put an end to this injustice to create a future where no one in the UK ever goes hungry.

In the lead up to Christmas, foodbanks provide a record number of emergency food parcels to people in crisis. By volunteering your time, you could help your local community at one of the busiest times for foodbanks.

There are many ways you can volunteer. Here are just some examples of the kind of volunteering opportunities there are with foodbanks in the run-up to Christmas:

Van drivers

Our drivers play an essential role collected food from supermarkets or warehouses and distributing to the foodbanks.

Warehouse volunteers

From sorting donated food, weighing food, updating our systems, making up emergency packages and generally keeping the warehouse running smoothly there is plenty to be done in warehouses across the UK.

Campaign volunteers

If you are passionate about ending hunger in the UK for good, you can use your voice to create change as one of our Campaign Volunteers.  From writing letters to your local MP to supporting us on social media you can raise awareness and keep the fight against poverty at the front of the agenda.

All of our volunteers are given a main contact, relevant training and support throughout their time with The Trussell Trust.
