Warehouse volunteer

From sorting and weighing stock to delivering food parcels to providing administrative support our warehouses offer a wide range of hands-on roles for volunteers.

Food bank centre volunteer

Food bank centres provide emergency food and support to people in crisis. From keeping the office running smoothly to making tea and meals for those visiting to signposting to local services we have a range of regular volunteering opportunities available.

Social enterprise volunteers

We have a number of charity shops in Wiltshire and Dorset as well as our Salisbury warehouse where you volunteer sorting donations, preparing items for sale and delivering to the store.

Office volunteers

Office volunteers provide administrative support throughout our Salisbury office. Whether you’re returning to work, looking to develop new skills, or building on existing expertise you can make a valuable contribution to the smooth running of the charity.

Our commitment to volunteers

We are committed to ensuring that all those volunteering in the network feel welcomed, valued, and respected. We are indebted to the time and skills given by volunteers and we demonstrate this by providing training, guidance and thanks to our volunteers throughout their time with us.

What our volunteers say

“It’s a great feeling to go home after a day at the food bank knowing that someone won’t go hungry that night.”
– Food bank volunteer

“Volunteering at the Trussell Trust has turned my world around. It does me good, as well as allowing me to help others.”
– Shop volunteer

“I find it rewarding in many ways; good company, plenty of laughs and the chance to help those in society who are in genuine and desperate need. The hours I volunteer are ideal and I still have plenty of time to enjoy my retirement in other ways.”
– Peter, Volunteer
