Cisco

The Trussell Trust and Cisco are working together to help further our mission to end hunger and poverty in the UK. The partnership will cover three areas: data, technology, and employee volunteering.

Cisco will help us better understand and utilise our data by identifying and building key areas where use of data would have the most valuable impact in the fight against hunger and poverty; from having a clearer understanding of stock levels, to connecting food banks to each other and to food retailers, and understanding who visits a food bank and the ways in which they can be supported.

The company and its employees will provide technical guidance, including on issues such as GDPR, cybersecurity, and networking infrastructure, and their use of technology to support more flexible and productive ways of working.

In 2019, to celebrate the Trussell Trust becoming one of Cisco UK’s official charity partners, the company is creating a dedicated programme to enable employees in the UK to use their time to help the Trussell Trust and the food banks in the network.

“As a nation, the expectation is that no one should be left hungry or destitute – however illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job could happen to any of us, and we need to make sure sufficient support is in place when we need it most. We’re delighted to have the support of Cisco and the expertise, time and commitment of its employees to help us make a difference to people’s lives in the UK.”
