Bobbin Recycling
Wilton Carpet factory's enormous looms are supplied by hundreds of bobbins full of wool. At the end of each run we collect the bobbins from them and strip off all the remaining wool using a specially made machine. The carpet factory can then reuse the bobbins and the wool goes to a factory to be recycled into felt.
The project provides up to 40 volunteering opportunities for people of varied abilities per week.
