Start a Foodbank

Starting a foodbank is a great way to help those in crisis in your own community. It's practical and straightforward and we'll give you all the tools you need to get started.

The Trussell Trust provides:
  • The foodbank operating manual in electronic format: a complete toolkit for running a local foodbank project.
  • Training for your team on how to set up a foodbank
  • Follow-on training to develop local procedures.
  • An on-call support service.
  • The opportunity to attend a free annual conference.
  • Discounted graphic design and publication production for your foodbank.
  • A co-ordinated network of foodbanks.
"The Trussell Trust provided us with a complete operations manual, plus the promise of support and training in the future. Having this level of support and expertise to draw from gave us Confidence. We were not left trying to discover how to establish a food bank, all the information we needed and the guidance on how to put all this together was incorporated in the operations manual.

We also felt that we had Clarity. When communicating the vision to the church, schools and other organisations we were able to speak about known facts rather than what we think might happen if we press the right buttons. This then gave us Credibility to approach statutory and voluntary organisations with a level of expertise that could only be gained by experience."
