Christmas Boxes

Each Christmas The Trussell Trust takes thousands of shoeboxes filled with gifts to some of the poorest people in Bulgaria.

Schools, churches, businesses and individuals all get involved in making, packing and sorting Christmas boxes.

These small boxes bring big smiles.

Many of those we give boxes to are Roma people living in freezing conditions and struggling to survive. Others are children living in state care after being orphaned or abandoned. Some are elderly people living in isolated areas with little dignity and not much hope. It's so humbling to see how much joy a simple Christmas box can bring.

Last year's story...

The 2008 appeal saw 3,700 boxes donated (3,400 from the Salisbury area - a record!). Thank you to all who gave so generously. Visit our travel blog at http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog/trusselltrust/1/tpod.html to see where your boxes went in 2008...

Get involved

It's time to start putting together Christmas Boxes for this year's trip.  The Trussell Team are already gearing up for the challenge of getting as many Christmas Boxes to as many people as possible this year. Why not put together a box or two or three or ask your school, church or business to put some boxes together.  Alternatively,  could you volunteer to help us sort, pack, or load the boxes? Your help will transform Christmasses. Please give us a call on   01722 427113 for more information.
