Holiday camps
A lack of government funding forces Lipnitsa School-Orphanage to shut during school holidays. For Lipnitsa’s abandoned and disadvantaged children the ‘holidays’ mean life on the streets or back in poverty stricken communities that struggle to provide just one meal per day. Each summer and winter The Trussell Trust runs holiday camps where Lipnitsa’s most vulnerable children are safe and loved.
Two sisters, Nedka, 7 and Nushka, 9, arrived for summer camp with nothing at all. They have no parents and had been living on the streets begging for a living before Lipnitsa took them in. Without summer camp these sisters would have been forced back onto the streets. Instead, Nedka and Nushka played on the beach, made new friends and received love and care that they had not had for years.
We need funds to help fund the 2013 summer camp, click here to help give an abandoned child a safe, happy holiday, thank you!
Ask your friends to support the Summer Camp through our "Hand a Kid a Holiday" campaign by sending them them this e-flyer: Download e-flyer here.

Would you like to join one of our summer camp teams in 2013?
We have two different opportunites for young people from the UK to get invloved in summer camps: a 14 day trip and a 7 day trip.
Watch this video to see why you should join our team this year.
Lipnitsa Summer Camp
Every summer a team of young people from the UK help us to run a 10 day summer camp at the Black Sea for 40 of Lipnitsa’s most at-risk children. The youth team run activities, games and craft as well as Christian teaching sessions. We have up to seven places available for a 14 day trip in August 2013.
The application deadline has now passed. If you missed out this year come back in September when we'll have details about our 2014 camps.
Summer Youth Camps (SC2)
In July 2013 we are offering up to 24 places for young UK volunteers on summer youth camps run by our partners, Hope Restored Bulgaria. This gives you the opportunity to spend a week working as part of a Bulgarian/US/UK team providing kids from orphanages and Roma communities with a great summer experience.
The application deadline for SC2 camps has now passed but we hope to run more next year.
If you lead a youth group that would like to go on camp together please get in touch with Rich Parsons to discuss group bookings; contact details below.

Winter Camp
Many of the children at Lipnitsa Orphanage-School come from poverty-stricken Roma communities.
With temperatures reaching -20 degrees, the lack of heating and scarce food in Roma communities is a serious danger to children’s health. In many cases these children are neglected or abused too.
For children with no home to go to, or for those afraid to go home, the only option is weeks on the streets in freezing temperatures, at the mercy of conditions and those that would exploit them.
All of the kids who attend Winter Camp come from extremely volatile situations. The children stay in a hotel and take part in arts and crafts and other activities (in 2011 they worked hard and put on a show for the other hotel guests). The camp is run by staff from Lipnitsa itself, along with a team of Bulgarian teenagers, keeping children safe and helping them to relax around and feel valued by the adults that they see each day.
