Big Lunch

The Big Lunch - 2nd June 2013

Fancy a fun and simple way to bring your community together whilst collecting vital supplies for the foodbank? The Big Lunch’s ‘Bring a Tin’ idea provides the perfect opportunity!

The Big Lunch is a UK-wide initiative from the Eden Project that aims to get everybody out and about, meeting neighbours, having fun and sharing food on Sunday 2nd June. It’s also a great chance to support your local foodbank by asking people to 'Bring a Tin'.

Last year the Big Lunch team encouraged people to ‘Bring a Tin’ along to events to donate to their local foodbank and we’re pleased to hear that lots of you did just that!

In Brent, Kim put on a successful event with fun and games for all the family and asked everyone to bring along at least one tin of food to support their foodbank.  Over in Bracknell they organised an Olympic sports day event to fundraise for the foodbank and Stoke on Trent and East Ayrshire also held a Big Lunch to help gather supplies: check out their blog.

This year’s Big Lunch will take place on Sunday 2nd June so get your party planning hat on! The Big Lunch team have put together some handy last minute lunch tips here.

Check out what the people of Wilton are planning this year.
