Summer Camp Appeal 2011
Last summer Helena, 6, got onto the summer camp coach incredibly skinny but very excited because she'd never been to the beach before. She'd not eaten properly since Lipnitza school-orphanage had been forced to shut over the summer holidays.
Every summer, a lack of government funding means that Lipnitza has to close, sending the poorest of its abandoned children onto the streets begging to survive or living in poverty-stricken communities that struggle to provide even just meal per day.
The Trussell Trust's summer camp takes 40 of Lipnitza's most vulnerable abandoned children to the Black Sea for ten days of sun, sea, sand and safety. A team of young people from the UK volunteer to help run the activities and look after the children, helping each child to realise that no matter what they have been through they are loved and valued.

Thanks to all who gave to this appeal, we were able to give all the children at Lipnitza School-Orphanage a hoody! They love them! Thank you.

Help us build a new House of Opportunity in Ruse
We've now opened our House in Ruse and the residents are settling in well. Thanks to all who gave, we're now raising funds to open more houses across Bulgaria...
We've been offered use of a property in Ruse, Bulgaria, to turn into our next House of Opportunity. This House will help prevent young orphanage leavers from falling into the traps of human trafficking, crime and prostitution, giving them the chance to build brighter futures.
