Starting a FOOD BANK in your area (THE FOOD BANK Franchise)

The Trussell Trust has a vision to build on its local success with THE FOOD BANK by franchising the idea across the UK. Using our experience, plus proven logistic, organisational and development skills, we have developed a comprehensive manual and training package.

This package gives churches and Christian organisations the tools, training and back-up they need to set up and run successful FOOD BANKS in their towns.

THE FOOD BANK Video

You can watch a six-minute video explaining how THE FOOD BANK could help your area. Click either the QuickTime (2.47MB) or Windows Media Player (2.11MB) icon to the left and wait for the file to download. Or, contact us and ask for a DVD.

THE FOOD BANK Operating Manual

The Trussell Trust provides:

  • THE FOOD BANK Operating Manual in electronic format: a complete toolkit for running a local FOOD BANK Project.
  • Training for your team on how to set up a FOOD BANK
  • Follow-on training to develop local procedures.
  • An on-call support service.
  • A co-ordinated network of FOOD BANKS.
Please support the work of The Trussell Trust's growing UK network of FOOD BANKs, or support your local FOOD BANK by using our Virtual On-Line Shopping Trolley.

Blythswood Care (www.blythswood.org), one of Scotland’s largest Christian charities, has thrown its weight behind the Trussell Trust, as we franchise our FOOD BANK project across the UK.

James Campbell, the Chief Executive of Blythswood Care, has developed a strong Christian relationship with Patrick Henderson, Operations Director of The Trussell Trust. He has been supporting The Trussell Trust’s projects in Bulgaria. Both men they could extend this partnership into THE FOOD BANK project.
